Accounts Payable Associate

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for reviewing vendor invoices to ensure proper authorizations, appropriate documentation, business justifications, and good receipts are provided for invoices to be processed and are in compliance with established internal controls and accounts payable processes.  

  • Accurately enters and posts accounting and vendor invoice data into SAP system. Prepares reports of posted invoices for internal audit review and release for payment.  
  • Researches and resolves staff and vendor inquiries.  Investigates old outstanding invoices on vendor statements and/or invoices.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial reporting and accounting functions. Completes accounting functions on a periodic basis as needed within required timeframes.  
  • Prepares various reports, tests system upgrades, sorts and distributes incoming mail, and processes payments on occasion.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree with a minimum two years of accounts payable experience required.
  • Strong computer skills and SAP experience a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and strong written communication skills.
  • Desire to work in a fast paced environment independently and take initiative. Detailed oriented with time management skills.
  • Basic accounting knowledge.
