Free Tax Help at Queens Library!

It’s that time of year again!

If you need help figuring out and filing your ‪tax return‬, come to Queens Library for free tax-preparation assistance if you are a low-income older adult, or earn $66,000 or less a year.

The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and Urban Upbound are offering free electronic tax-preparation assistance at three community libraries in January, February, March, and April if your income was $66,000 or less in 2018. Volunteers will be available, offering help in several languages, to guide you through preparing and e-filing your federal and state income tax returns using the tax-preparation software available on the NYS Tax Department website.

Free tax preparation is also provided for low-income older adults by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). IRS-certified volunteers, sponsored by the AARP Foundation, will help you complete and e-file your 2018 tax return at 13 other Queens Library locations. This is a walk-in, e-file, tax-assistance program. Help is available first-come, first-served.

Visit our Tax Assistance Programs webpage to choose the best option for you and see the available times and library locations.

Schedules are subject to change. For updated information, check with participating libraries.
