One Book, One New York: Cast Your Vote!

Imagine all New Yorkers reading and talking about the same book at the same time!

The NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment and New York Magazine have announced the return of One Book, One New York, the exciting city-wide initiative that brings book-loving New Yorkers together to read the same book at the same time.

Just like last year, they’re giving New Yorkers the chance to pick which book they want to read. Voting ends on Monday. April 30.

The choices are:

  • Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan
  • If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin
  • Behold the Dreamers by Imbolo Mbue
  • White Tears by Hari Kunzru
  • When I Was Puerto Rican by Esmeralda Santiago

Plus, once you’ve voted, readers age 18 and up are also invited to enter Queens Library’s One Book, One New York Sweepstakes!

Post a photo of the book you voted for on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #VoteOneBookNY, and you could win a signed copy of a One Book, One New York finalist!
